RISKS OF DAMAGE DURING ASSEMBLY:
Take extra care to prevent to connecting rod from scratching the cylinder walls or crankshaft journal when installing the piston/rod assembly.
WHEN RE-ASSEMBLING:
Apply SAE-30 engine oil to bolt friction surface and threads.
Correct orientation of piston/rod assembly: the small arrow on the rod points toward the camshaft. The numbers (stamped on the long side of the rod) will be on the injection pump side.
When installing rod caps, orient the stamped numbers on the cap and rod.
