Main bolt torque: 80nm (60ft-lb) + 90deg turn
Crankshaft endplay: .003-.013 in
Front hub nut torque: 294nm (216ft-lb)
Flywheel bolt torque: 40nm (30ft-lb) + 60deg turn
Replaces 98461246 but without gear and keys..
RISKS OF DAMAGE DURING ASSEMBLY:
Damaging the bearing surfaces when lowering crankshaft into place
Installing mismatched main bearing caps
BEFORE INSTALLING CRANKSHAFT:
Apply assembly lube to the main bearing halves in the block.
Wait to install thrust washers until the crankshaft is set in place.
INSTALLING CRANKSHAFT:
To set crank in place, use a sling on either end, lower it slowly, taking care to prevent damaging the bearing surfaces.
AFTER CRANKSHAFT IS PLACED:
Apply assembly lube to the wear side of the two thrust washers without tangs. Slide them down on either side of the correct crank journal, making sure the lubed side is toward the crank and away from the block.
The remaining thrust washers (with tangs) get installed in the corresponding main bearing cap.
After placing the main bearings in the caps, apply assembly lube and install them on the correct journals in the block.
